Today is the second day of Drew's recovery and he is exhausted. He spent pretty much all day yesterday talking, walking and sitting in a chair so he really didn't get any rest and today he is very tired. He has slept almost all day today with the exception of sitting in a chair for a few hours this afternoon. Drew also is a little more uncomfortable today because of his chest tube and the overall surgery in general. Luckily he is able to keep his pain under control and if you know Drew he is not a complainer so I am the one telling the nurses to give him more drugs while he is saying he can handle it. He can be so stubborn. The doctor is also watching his blood as he may have to have a transfusion but hopefully it won't come to that. Drew's blood has been a little low since the surgery and they have been watching it ever since.
Drew was supposed to be moved out of ICU today but it looks like it will be tomorrow. The only reason being that right now there isn't a room available and it is not due to any complications. Overall another good day and I am sure Drew will have more strength tomorrow since he was able to get so much rest today. Hopefully he can get a good night's rest as well.

Hi:
ReplyDeleteWe are thinking of you both. Drew had quite a workout!!! Rest up (both of you). Tracie will be spending time with Aubrey tomorrow, she will try not to influence her with too many teenage ideas (LOL)!! You are in our thoughts and prayers and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Love,
Terry, Ginny, Brian, Megan, and Tracie :)
Hi you guys,
ReplyDeleteDrew are you training for a marathon? What's with all the walking and talking around the joint? Good going. You have to keep fit for the Gramps Camp races right? But take it easy, you'll never beat me! You are already my hero OK? Watch out for Kerri pushing the drugs, she's trying to keep you loopy in case the hot doc comes to see you. I love you guys. Hang in there.
